Birth Stories: Books to read to your Baby before Birth

0
It has been a widely known fact that playing classical music and reading books to a baby greatly helps in developing and nurturing his brain development and senses. It’s best to start at the earliest possible time-before giving birth.
As a matter of fact, unborn babies will even learn to recognize and respond to sounds that they repeatedly hear. Although there’s still so much to discover regarding prenatal development, it is evident that learning occurs before birth and it’s possible that you as a parent have some amount of influence on this learning process.
Reading books or even just talking to your tummy is a great bonding experience for you and the whole family. It helps you to be in tune with what’s going on inside your tummy and develop emotional bond with your baby. Your unborn child can hear various sounds inside the womb and one of the loudest and most often is your voice, which he will be able to recognize after birth.
Research shows that if a baby is repeatedly told the same story while in the womb, he will be able to recognize the story and start to settle down when it is read. This is not only seen before birth, but similar effects were also after birth and infant stage.
A more popular book that is read before birth is “Oh Baby, the Places You’ll Go: A Book to be Read in Uter” written by Tish Rabe. Inspired by Dr. Seuss’ classic children stories, this book was written for the same purpose of nourishing the minds of the baby before birth.
Aside from this, any simple children’s stories, rhymes, and stories with moral values would actually suffice. As long as it’s an easy ready, your baby is good to go. Read the books that you plan to read to your child when you give birth to him.
Reading to your unborn child is not primarily a matter of developing his intelligence. It has more to do with vocabulary and the different sounds the fetus hear, which once become familiar, he will be able to pick up faster when you teach him talk.
