Introduce National Teacher’s Day to your preschool child
Your preschool child may not yet fully grasp what National Teacher’s Day is for. Talk to your kid about it. Give her an overview what it is, why and how we celebrate it. For instance, you can say that National Teacher’s Day is the day when all teachers, from preschools to advanced educators, are honored and recognized for their dedication, love for work, and compassion all over the country. National Teacher’s Day is not a non-working holiday. Preschools have regular classes. Thus, they are the common venue for celebration and special activities for this day. In some preschools, there are special programs where preschool kids perform short skit, songs, and dance numbers. In other preschools, the kids simply give their preschool teacher orchid corsages or bouquet of flowers.
Inspire an idea to your preschool child
During the casual talk, ask your child what her preschool teacher does so that she may truly learn and improve her skills. Is her teacher kind to her? Does she assist her in the activities whenever she asks? Does her teacher offer a hand when she can’t open her snack box? If so, ask your child what she can give or do in return to show her appreciation to her teacher. Simple acts of kindness can be appreciated through simple thoughts and gifts.
Encourage your preschool child to take part of the celebration
On National Teacher’s Day, urge your child to greet her preschool teacher and hand over her gift. It can be a simple note, a rose, a poem, or a personalized greeting card. Or, it can be a fantastic gift, such as a favorite book, a loving framed photo of your child with her preschool teacher, or a favorite personal item. Cheer your preschool child for showing an act of appreciation to her teacher.
On this day when preschools celebrate teachers for their huge devotion for quality education, increase the awareness of your preschool child of the value of her preschool teacher in shaping the path towards a hopeful, brighter future that awaits her.
