Food to Avoid for Babies

0

As a first time mum, I didn’t know that there are so many food that babies can’t eat! Lucas has started his cereal recently and we’ll “upgrade” him to puree soon. I have been reading up about what foods that babies can’t eat – so many that I can’t remember haha. So, I compiled the list into a collage of photos. See, I’m more of a visual than word person. I tend to remember better with pictures.

From left to right:
Yeast, citrus fruits (orange, lemon, lime), chocolate, sesame seed/oil, honey, soy, milk, peanuts / peanut butter, egg, cinnamon, strawberries, tomatoes, pork, gluten (wheat, oat, barley), corn, prawn, lobster / crab, salmon, sardine, raisin

Majority of the foods should be avoided because they tend to cause an allergic reaction or digestive problem. Honey must be avoided until baby reaches one year old, because they contain botulism spores. The spores can grow and produce life threatening toxins.
