Christmas is just around the corner, and that means a lot of time for family gatherings and year-end parties at school. To highlight, this season is most known for indulgence of sweets and varieties of food, and it is just acceptable because everyone’s celebrating and being merry! Now, don’t forget to at least input some healthy ways to maintain your child’s ideal body weight, here are some easy and fun ways to encourage your child to exercise and still be healthy in this joyful season:

Jump Rope:

As easy as having a jump rope, this activity can be done almost anywhere! Either inside your house or in the backyard, you can easily encourage your child to commit a certain amount of time to jump rope and still have fun!

Hula-Hoops:

This one is another way to easily be done everywhere and whenever. Although, it would be quite a challenge to teach the young ones with this one, it could be a way for parents to bond with them! Hula-hoop aids kids’ development in coordination. It deals with motor skills such as movement of their limbs and balance. With the right approach they can succeed. It is an exercise that brings good health and great fun!

Dodge Ball:

Dodge ball is basically a game that needs a lot of running and dodging! (hence the name). It is a great way to exercise because it requires your kids to move every part of their body, it is actually a good way to train their endurance and enhance their cardiovascular health! Aside from the benefit of losing weight through this activity, dodge ball also promotes great eyes-body-hands coordination, flexibility and balance.

Take an Early Morn Walk:

A very traditional way of exercise that everyone grew up with, taking an early morn walk is still one of the best ways to exercise. This provides a bond between families and promotes productivity through starting the day way earlier than others. Through this traditional way of exercise, you are teaching your kid many things: first, you are teaching him that rising early is good; that exercise is a good way to bond as a family and have fun and finally, you promote health through this activity. So, it’s a triple win kind of activity for families.

As a good proverb says: Train up a child in the way he should go. And when he is old, he will not depart from it. Indeed, if you include healthy and fun exercises in your child’s lifestyle, he would always be reminded how important it is to take care of health and body. Be healthy in this merry season!
