On June 6, 2018, Heart Evangelista-Escudero shared on Instagram that they lost their remaining baby. Heart and Sen. Chiz Escudero were expecting twins for Heartās first pregnancy but due to certain circumstances, they had a twin miscarriage.
It was just a month ago when Heart shared about her pregnancy on her Instagram account. The photo exhibited a very blooming expecting mother with her joyful husband, excitedly showing a cute little baby onesie. Part of the photoās caption was āThe greatest of blessings all in Godās perfect timing! Our beautiful family just got a little bigger.ā
A few days after the pregnancy announcement, Heart shared a photo of their twinsā ultrasound.Ā It was in that post that she revealed that they had twins but unfortunately lost one of them. According to Heart, one of the embryos was smaller and behind in terms of development so they lost one of the twins.
Then on June 6, Heart announced the heartbreaking news that they also lost the remaining twin. She shared that upon their doctorās appointment for their third month, they found out that the remaining baby’s heart stopped beating. Heart expressed her grief and yet kept her strong faith in God through her statement āI donāt question God about this sad time, I trust in His timing and plan.ā
On the last part of her post, she revealed their baby’s name. She called her Mira and stated that she loves Miraās smile and that she knows that Mira would find her way back to her mommy.
Twin miscarriage
Twin pregnancy is considered a high-risk pregnancy and as such, requires extra monitoring and care. If you have a high-risk pregnancy, make sure to attend all your prenatal appointments so that any complication that may arise can be detected early.
The risk of miscarriage when carrying twins is higher than when having a single pregnancy. Miscarriage in the first trimester, which is commonly known as āearly miscarriageā is not so uncommon for all pregnancies. Some early miscarriages happen so early that the mother didnāt even notice that sheās pregnant.Ā
Although causes of complications are not definite, you can take extra precaution to keep your pregnancy safe. If you want to keep your pregnancy problem-free, make sure to observe the following:
- Attend all your prenatal appointments
- Eat a healthy and balanced diet
- Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
- Do regular gentle exercises as consulted with your physician
- Avoid smoking
As with all pregnancy, it is important that you take care of yourself. When you take good care of yourself during your pregnancy, you are also taking good care of the little one/s inside your womb.
