Experiencing a miscarriage is hard both physically and emotionally. The procedures that mothers have to undertake are physically exhausting and the emotions of being ecstatic after the positive pregnancy test and the dragging grief over a lost heartbeat are just too painful to bear. Miscarriage is not so uncommon. Even celebrities are not spared of this, including Heart Evangelista-Escudero and Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla. And just recently, Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio shared through her video blog that she had two previous miscarriages.

In her blog, Every Day a New Page, Rica shared that she had two miscarriages just a year apart. The first one happened around March 2016 and the second was around April 2017. Rica admitted that she was in great emotional pain during those trying times. She admitted that she would never understand why these happened to her but she kept her faith that God knows what He is doing.

Despite the loss, Rica exhibited strong faith. She believes that when the time comes, she will have two children waiting in heaven for her. And that while she was not able to hug her babies in this world, she takes comfort in knowing that her babies are resting in God’s loving arms.

Rica also shared in her video blogs that she’s been seeing and consulting with doctors on the best time to conceive again. And recently, she shared with her viewers that the doctors have given her the green signal to try again, provided that she complies with the prescribed medications.

Rica’s journey demonstrates how tough mothers can be. Despite the losses, she kept herself together and gathered the courage to stand up again and take a big step forward. Her experiences allowed her to be more empathic with other mothers in the same boat. Towards the end of her video blog, she reminded mothers who have experienced miscarriage and those having fertility problems that they are not alone in their journey.

The faith and hope that Rica demonstrates are very encouraging. To all the mamas faced with this kind of challenge, be strong and don’t lose hope. To all the moms who have surpassed the challenge and now have their rainbow babies, share your strength and inspire others! Moms need fellow moms. Despite the heartaches and tears, you will eventually learn how to move forward, keep hoping, and rise up stronger.
