Caring for Toddler Teeth

Whenever you see your toddler smiles, you feel light. All the anxieties and stress you brought home from work can magically vanish away with just her simple smile. Now, if you want your toddler to dazzle you every time with her smile, then you might want to be sure she gets proper toddler care for her teeth. Although it is her first set of teeth and will be replaced with another soon, caring for her teeth early on is a crucial part of toddler care. Here are some tips for caring for toddler teeth.

  • Make sure that her teeth is brushed thoroughly at least twice a day, especially after toddler feeding.
  • Use a toddler toothbrush. It has soft bristles and therefore will not hurt her gums.
  • Replace toothbrush every three months.
  • See a dentist ideally twice a year.
  • Include calcium-rich foods like cheese and yogurt in toddler feeding.
  • Cut down on sugar in her diet.
  • If she hates having her teeth brushed choose flavored toothpaste to go with a kiddy toothbrush.
  • Brush front teeth in up-down fashion and the back teeth in circular motion, not side to side.
