Connect-the-dots my face!

0
First came marriage, and then came the birth of our first born. Then out of nowhere, without warning, I have fallen into the role of being the ultimate juggler in the family. I am now officially juggling my role as a loving wife to my husband, a mom and yaya to my new born and an ever-dependable employee. Suddenly, life has become too busy…and the evidence is found on my face. My pimple-stricken face. Gah! I’m no longer in my adolescent years! This face dilemma should have propped up earlier! Even my nephew, in all his innocence, commented “Tita, can I connect-the-dots your face?”  Now, how does a career woman slash mom slash wife cope?

Obviously the answer would be a proper skin care regimen. So first thing I did was to ask friends for an easy beauty routine that would help my poor face. Of course, suggestions to visit a dermatologist always cropped up. But because of the many things that I have to do, it’s not just feasible right now. So, the next best thing is to ask about the most practical and effective beauty regimen for a pimple-free face!

My search basically led me to simple, tried-and-tested tips for a clear, clean face.
As I’ve found out, the habit of washing the face is on the top of the list.  Oh, I’ve heard about this advice a hundred times, but I am guilty of skipping it more than once because after a long, hard day’s work, hitting the sack immediately was far more attractive an activity than cleaning my face. Washing the face with soap is not enough! In fact, soap is highly discouraged because it dries up the skin. A good cleanser is needed! I visited our supermarket to score the most efficient cleanser and I found one or two that seemed to match my skin type. I also made sure that they’re hypoallergenic.  My friends reiterated that I should also use a moisturizer. In my 26 years of existence, I never was a fan of moisturizers. I dislike the sticky feeling some moisturizers leave on the skin. Good thing, I was introduced to a light moisturizer that promises to leave my skin smooth and clear. Okay, the cleansing and the moisturizing I know, but you’ll never guess what one friend suggested. She said, she swears by Terramycin Plus (Polymyxin B Sulfate + Bacitracin Zinc + Neomycin Sulfate) Antibacterial Ointment! My initial reaction to her declaration was “What? Terra?? Are you sure??? Isn’t it supposed to be for wounds only?”

To which my friend assured me that it can also be used for pimples because it is antibacterial! Its triple antibiotic formulation also helps minimize the appearance of scarring. And Terramycin can penetrate 25 layers of skin, preventing infection from the surface to the inside. Hmm…a dab of Terra may just do the trick for me!

Fast forward to today. After faithfully following this simple beauty regimen–voila! My face looks way much better! Sure, there are still a few pimples left, but I’m getting there! After all, why let stress show on my face? Why be content with being just a juggler when I can become a PRETTY JUGGLER, right? Remember, take good care of your skin by cleaning, moisturizing and dabbing a pinch of Terra!
