The whole world just celebrated mother’s day and social media was flooded with posts related to the occasion. While we are done celebrating our special day and have honored other mothers, let us look at the thoughts of some of the celebrity mother’s on this special day.

Karen Delos Reyes

Karen shared a wonderful photo of her breastfeeding her firstborn. She shared the difficulties that she experienced while she was breastfeeding and referred to the latter as one of the sacrifices of being a mother. Indeed, we have endured engorged breasts, sore nipples, quick bath time and eating time, and sleepless nights just to be able to provide our babies with the best nourishment they could ever have.

I was hesitant at first to share this photo, it's too personal kasi. This is the only photo of Me breastfeeding #GabrielLucas Naalala ko yung Ilang buwan kang puyat, mabilisang kain at ligo. And those times na breast pump, lanolin cream, 2 liters of water, Fenugreek and Malunggay capsules ang nasa side table at hindi makeup at blower. #mothersday #TeamNoSleep #breastfeeding #breastfeedingmama

Paula Peralejo-Fernandez

Paula admitted that with all the hustle and expectations from a mom like being a working mom or pursuing one’s dream, she is more than satisfied to be one. She explained that motherhood was what really gave her life the most purpose and meaning. She even shared her mother’s touching insight into it.

At this day and age where we moms are, more often than not, expected to be “more than JUST a mom” – to also be working from 9-5, to have businesses here and there, to pursue everything we want, my confession is…while I love everything I did before becoming a mom myself, I feel that motherhood is really what gave my life the most purpose and meaning – so much that I am more than comfortable that I am “JUST” a mom. . We all have different stories and situations, but this point-of-view secured me all the more when I asked my mom, who, all her life, worked so hard (did multiple jobs when needed, hardly made time for rest), if she would live the same life, and she told us that if she could live her life again, she would stop working outside the moment she had a child and spend time with her children more. In her words, “hindi mo na mababalik yun.” (You can never put those moments back.) . I don’t need to explain the work (for my child) I do to others, but years from now, I know it will matter more than everything else I do on the side. 💛⭐️ . Thank you, @jamiemapaguphoto for capturing some of our moments! You turn our everyday into dreamy, magical scenes. Pwede ka ba hire everyday?😂

Amanda Griffin-Jacob

As a mother of four, Amanda Griffin-Jacob’s take on motherhood is ‘crazy overwhelming, crazy chaotic, and crazy fun. According to her, it’s like there are 4 pairs of hands pulling her in 4 different directions 24 hours a day. And yet, she loves every second of it and she considers motherhood as the greatest privilege she ever had.

LJ Reyes

LJ paid tribute to all the mothers (stay-at-home moms, single moms, OFW moms, etc.) on her mother’s day post. She emphasized the role of the mother as a homemaker. She expressed admiration on how a mother can make a home for her family in spite of all the other roles that they need to play as women (being a wife, daughter, sister, friend, employee, etc.).

Today as we celebrate all the mothers in the world, let me emphasize the importance of their (our) role as homemakers. The smallest form of a society is family. It is where we begin to interact as human beings. It is where we learn our values and first receive and give love. And I think today is the day we salute all kinds of homemakers: Stay at home moms Single moms Career moms OFW moms Part time worker moms Soon to be moms Rainbow moms And so on.. all types of moms.. You know what’s amazing? In spite of all the roles they (we) need to play as women (daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, employee, entrepreneur, etc), we are able to build a HOME for our family! We are able to raise human beings with the LOVE they truly deserve. In whatever way. Your way. The best way for our kids, for our family. Now, imagine a world where all the amazing superhuman being we all call mom (mama, mommy, nanay, inay) come together and celebrate each other. What kind of world would that be! How beautiful! So let me celebrate today with this photo of myself with my kids, as real as it gets, to honor the imperfections but resilience of a mother. Brushed teeth ❌ Brushed hair ❌ In sleepwear ❌ (dozed off even before I could wash up) Breakfast ready ❌ Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there!!!❤️ You deserve all the love (and special treatment😜) today!

Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio

Rica’s post is concise yet very insightful: “One of the best things a mother can give to her children is the truth that women are strong.”

Truly, mothers are amazing. Their hearts can give so much love to so many, they can take care of their youngsters the way no other person can. They are so resilient and strong that no matter how tough life gets, they get up and rise again with their kids always in their heart and mind. Happy mother’s day to all the amazing mothers reading this!
