Taking Turns in Putting Baby Back to Sleep

0
Babies need the constant comfort and love of their parents. Most of the time, a baby wakes up crying in the middle of the night when he needs to be fed or is uncomfortable.  Keeping up with baby’s sleeping pattern, unfortunately, can be difficult for some parents.
As parents, we want our babies to sleep soundly, and we will do anything just to help them have a good slumber. This includes nighttime feedings, singing lullabies, and rocking baby to sleep. However, not all parents have the luxury of getting their own forty winks during the day. Work and household chores keep them from having that much-needed sleep. Napping during the day is out of the question as they need to keep up with the daily grind.
Getting Baby to Sleep Again
Most parents rush to their babies’ side when they cry. This is very understandable since we do not want our babies to be deprived of sleep. However, there are times when letting the little one cry for a minute is perfectly all right. Teach him how to go back to sleep on his own. Taking him out of his crib right away might make him reliant on your presence when going back to sleep.
Taking Turns
Sometimes, parents cannot decide who should attend to their baby’s need when he wakes up in the middle of the night. Couples, therefore, must take turns in checking on their baby and making sure that he goes back to sleep easily.
Have alternate cuddling moments with your little one so that he will be comfortable in sleeping no matter who is holding him. Schedule most of your child’s activities earlier during the day and not close to bedtime so that we will not wake up in the middle of the night.
Agreeing on who should attend to the baby when he wakes up can help parents keep their schedule. If one parent needs to leave for work early, he or she can take charge of putting the child to sleep. The other parent, with a possibly more flexible schedule, can take care of the rest of the night. Find out what works for you and your little one and stick with it.

Your presence is very important to your baby. Being there by his side can be reassuring for your little one. Take turns in comforting your baby to go back to sleep by making a schedule that could work for both parents. This is one part of baby care that parents need to do to have a happy and healthy baby.
