Being With Daddy

Statistics say that having a male influence in childrens lives can effect who they will become as an adult. Likewise,  and that there is a strong correlation between a childs well being and the involvement of a father or male influence.  It is important to have one on one time with Daddy.  and iIf Daddy isnt available, then another  find another male figure can be just as that wants to be influential: Grandpa, uncle, your best friend, a cousin, the neighbor.  Have him do activities that a father figure would typically do. Balance is needed between the influences of a male and female in a childs life and it is important to find ways to expose your child to both, on a regular basis.

A father figure needs to make sure to put timefind time aside each day and/or week for some one- on- one bonding. time.  Todays families may not have a father figure on a daily basis in a home, but a consistent, regular schedule is important.  Once established, stick to it!  It really doesnt matter what is happening during this special time, for what does matter is that the time together is positive, unconditional and full of love! 

Although we live in a fully connected world these days, where we can send our emails anytime are always “pinging” and we can be contacted anywhere, any place, it will be important for dads to set aside uninterrupted time to play and give your child focused attention.  In many homes where the dads are gone most of the day, this time is precious and should be taken as seriously as any high end, corporate meeting!  In fact, why not set your “out of office” on your email for the hour and turn off the phone?

This is a fantastic fabulous time to learn about each other, what you both like, dont like and what you have in common.  Maybe start planning some special “daddy and me” activities that only daddy does performs with your child.  Fishing, washing the car, watching airplanes take off or going for a run in the jogging stroller are great activities that can be unique to your child and dad. They These activities will help create a unique connection with one another and be something that they both enjoy and look forward to.  These moments will create memories that will last a lifetime!
