The Philippines will once again host the worldwide event called The Great Cloth Diaper Change on April 21, 2018, the same weekend as the celebration of Earth Day. Since 2010, parents around the world have been changing their babies simultaneously at 11:00 AM local time on the same date.
Billions of disposable diapers continue to be thrown in our landfills, and these diapers take decades before decomposing, if at all. This momentous event aims to increase awareness of the advantages of using washable cloth diapers over disposable ones, including being planet-friendly, pocket-friendly, and health-friendly.
The GCDC will be held at the following locations:
UP Diliman Ang Bahay ng Alumni, Quezon City, Manila
City Hall Loop, Baguio City
Centrio Mall Ayala, Cagayan de Oro
Redpalm Function Hall, Woodridge Park, Davao City
Gaisano Grand Mall, Tagum City, Davao del Norte
Ams Chicken House, Iligan City
Redbucks Café, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental
Vista Mall, Pampanga
In addition to the GCDC, each location invited speakers on relevant topics, and raffle prizes will be given away. Some locations will hold a mini-bazaar, featuring local small and big businesses, alike. Attendees will also have the opportunity to discuss the basics of cloth diapering.
