We, moms, know that kids can easily come down with something just like that. Our kids could be playing happily one morning then have a tummy ache by the afternoon. This is the primary reason why we have our Pediatrician’s number saved in our mobile phones and why we are suki in hospital ERs. However, now that we are in community quarantine and unnecessary visits to hospitals are discouraged, what do we do when our kids come down with something?
Doctors and healthcare practitioners recognize this need and as such, have established several online medical sites and Facebook pages that aim to provide free general online consults. The goal is to urge the public to stay at home and decongest hospitals (and prevent patient’s unnecessary exposure to infection in hospitals). If you need a medical consult during the community quarantine, here are a few options you can try:
Hi-Precision Diagnostics
Â
You can call them Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm or 9 am to 12 nn at the numbers listed above. However, please note that they will not give prescriptions so this might work for general questions on health.
Â
Bayanihan MD
Â
Bayanihan MD is a group of volunteer doctors who offer medical advice via their Facebook page. Consults are via Facebook messenger (sent to their FB page), Monday to Saturday, from 9 am to 12 nn, and 1 pm to 3 pm (messaging is suspended outside of these times).
Â
Doctors Online Consultation for Filipinos
Doctors Online Consultation for Filipinos or DOC is a Facebook group established by a group of doctors, to again respond to medical needs during the quarantine. You will have to be a member of the group to post your concern so doctors can offer medical advice. However, ensure that you have read and will abide by the group’s rules.
Â
Konsulta MD
Â
Konsulta MD is composed of a team of licensed doctors that aim to provide customers with 24/7 access to medical information via their phone numbers: 79880 (Mobile) and (02) 7798 8000 (landline). This is a paid service but you can still make the most of their free 1-month subscription, valid until April 13, 2020.
Â
Makati Medical Center
Makati Medical Center offers virtual consultations via Zoom. However, this is a paid service via Paymaya.
Â
LGU’s Online Consultation Groups
A number of Metro Manila LGU’s have also established their own online consultation services for their constituents. Here are a few:
Taguig:
Â
Muntinlupa:
Â
However, physical consultations are still best and alternatives such as online consults are only ok at this time due to the prevailing community quarantine.
Keep safe and healthy, mamas!
