Make stars to hang on the Christmas tree or you can use them to brighten up your bedroom any time of the year. Stars are a great year-round decoration that can be used to spark the imaginations about the universe and the making helps little ones work on fine motor skills.
Here is an easy way to make a few.
What you need:
Colored paper (heavier paper tends to be easier to work with but it isn’t essential)
Scissors
Crayons, color pencils or oil pastels
Tape
String (if you want to hang the stars)
What to do:
• Draw out a five pointed star.
• Now copy or trace an exact copy
• Cut them both out.
• Cut a slit in one star from the tip of one point to the center.
• Cut a slit in the other star starting from between two of the points to the center.
• Now you can color your stars. Glue on glitter or paint as you please.
• Once dry, slide the two stars together through the slits.
• Now you can use a bit of tape to secure the stars and stand them on the table or when you put the tape, stick the ends of a sting in so that you can hang your stars.
