A pregnant mother knows she has to take care of herself for inner and outer health. For nine months, Mommy knows there’s a miracle growing within her.
Scary? Not really. You simply have to double your daily mental, physical, and emotional discipline for yourself and the growing fetus. Definitely, the new Mommy is rewarded daily with a growing tummy.
Mommy’s radar is rightly focused on her and the growing fetus during this essential period before the baby is born. Sometimes, things can get overwhelming, with all the things you have to look out for, in order to stay healthy. Don’t get discouraged! Here are three helpful tips on how to keep yourself healthy while pregnant, while also going about your regular lifestyle.
Watch your Weight.
Be mindful of what you eat and drink. Remember, you are no longer alone. Your very own son or daughter (or both!) eats what you eat and drinks what you drink. A healthy, balanced nutritional diet is key. Set a rest period from excesses for the next 9 months and welcome a warm, cuddly, beautiful baby. No equal joy rests on earth.
Avoid sugars.
Being pregnant is never an excuse to develop a sweet tooth, especially when you feel like lounging on the sofa in your PJs or doing your ZZZ’s until the noonday sun is shining! Worse, munching a chocolate bar with nuts and marshmallows to kill the boredom whilst lying on one’s back is a definite no-no. Reach for healthy snacks instead—these also will prevent constipation, which is likely to make Mommy’s pregnancy less than enjoyable!
Steer clear of high blood pressure risks.
Exercise. Exercise. And more exercise. When we exercise, our body releases endorphins that make you feel good and reduce any perception of pain. As a result, we rid ourselves of stress and reduce the risk of high blood pressure. In turn, Mom avoids any pre-eclampsia problems which cause complications in pregnancy. Stay active, Mama! Go to the gym, go for a walk, go to yoga class.
